Go8 agreements with Brazil

4 Feb 2012

In 2012 the Group of Eight signed agreements with two Brazilian Government Agencies: CAPES (Agency that belongs to the Ministry of Education) and CNPQ (Agency that belongs to the Ministry of Science and Technology).

The agreements form an important part of the Brazilian Government’s “Science Without Borders” initiative and have resulted in a significant increase in the number of Brazilian students coming to Australia to undertake higher education courses. The agreement also encourages research and academic exchange, at PhD and post-doctoral level, increasing opportunities for cooperation between Brazilian and Australian Go8 universities.

The Group of Eight universities are building long-term relationships in Brazil and are focused on partnerships that bring mutual benefits.
